Wiliam "Bill" Boyd is the son of Marth Gardner, John Homer Boyd I.
Below is a picture of a cottage. This cottage located in Stoney Pointe was rented by George Desjardins, son of Alexis Desjardins, Helene Soulliere, before 1940. It was 1940 that William's grandfather Boyd and William's grandfather Boyd's father-in-law William Tayfield Gardner bought that cottage. According to William "Bill" Boyd that cottage was sold about twelve years ago. Here is part of the e-mail that William "Bill" Boyd sent me in 2009.
William "Bill" Boyd wrote, "Our family sold our cottage in Stoney Pointe approx. 12 years ago. We bought the cottage about 1940 and prior to that Uncle George Desjardins was renting that cottage. My father says that for several years prior to the purchase, my Grandfather Boyd use to take his family to visit Uncle George at that cottage.
Finally, my Grandfather Boyd and his father-in-law, William Gardner "Desjardins", husband of Florence Desjardins "sister to Uncle George" purchased the cottage.
Uncle George then moved to a nearby little red home. I remember his house as myself and my cousin use to walk to his house for a visit.
It was always told to me that Uncle George helped build that cottage, but my father does not know what year it was built.
I do not remember the name of the lake front road it was on but the numbers were 6666. In the middle of Stoney Pointe, if you drive from town toward the lake, and go past Stoney Pointe Cemetery, you go as far as you can until you have to make a left turn to go on that lake front road "unknown name". Approx. one quarter mile down is another road that could take you back to Stoney Pointe. Second lot before that road was our cottage. "That road is where Uncle George used to live." The cottage and lot are no longer there as the neighbor purchased our cottage, tore it down and expanded his property..................
